What it's All About:

This is another request from a listener on Quora. I would also like to mention another topic that I find hard to talk about without it being a scientific topic. However, the seasons are all about cycles and change, which is why they are so important. Even writing here is difficult for me. Despite this, everyone knows that the seasons have something to do with paganism in some way. I'll explain more about it in the show.

According to nationalgeographic.org, “A season is a period of the year that is distinguished by special climate conditions.” Seasons start when the Earth's axis is inclined regarding the orbital plane. This plane is a flat disc where objects circle the sun. As you probably already know, the seasons in the northern hemisphere are opposite those in the southern hemisphere. For example, winter in Australia and Argentina is in June. As you go north, the seasons differ more. In Helsinki, Finland, for instance, in June there are almost 19 hours of daylight and in December there are less than six. Places that are near the equator see little seasonal differences. This means that they have the same amount of day and night throughout the year. Plus, We can all agree that the seasons have a significant impact on plant growth and vegetation. I will discuss something we all know later on, and that is how the seasons relate to paganism. It's easy to discuss this. For now, here is Three Weird Sisters with Inner Season (Follow the Crow).

I'm going back to ancient Greece to discuss not one, but 12 goddesses. They are the Horae. These are the goddesses of the seasons. The spirits of abundance. Goddesses of the correct moment and perfect timing. Furthermore, they represented the spirits of nature and general order. They are the daughters of Zeus and Themis. They are the ones who guard the gates to Mount Olympus. They were also the ones that advocated for the earth's fertility. The Horae are the ones responsible for organizing the seasons and they created the earliest calendar. In addition, they set the lengths of the months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes. At first, there were only two or three Horae, but as time passed, their numbers grew to 12. Most commonly, they were found in groups of three. And, the individual Horae do have names, but I can only say a few of them here: Thallo, Auxo, and Carpo. Additionally, they were first the personifications of nature and its seasonal aspects. Their closest allies were with Hera, Aphrodite, and Dionysus. The Horae should be invoked during a wedding and for brides and children. That is it for now. Stay tuned for another spirit guide of the week.

That was Seasons by Castalia. We modern pagans celebrate the seasons in the form of the Wheel of the Year. It's like going back to our ancient ancestors who didn't rely on modern technology, but rather on seasonal changes. The seasons have no beginning or end. It's always in a continuous, never-ending cycle of change. Part of these cyclical changes is the weather and the fertility of the land. We all know that part of the Wheel of the year is the Sabbats or festivals that we celebrate. We all know what they are. These seasonal changes coincide with all of our festivals. Samhain is a good example. Samhain marks the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the dark half of the year. It also means that winter is just around the corner. There is still a memory I have of a non-pagan telling me why they dislike Halloween, which is because it represents the approaching winter. Birth, death, and rebirth are also represented by the seasons as a cycle. In the winter, we undergo births and rebirths until Samhain and then the cycle repeats itself. In my view, this is the pagan view of the seasons. Let me know if I missed anything or if I got something wrong. It would be great to hear from you. Let's continue with more music. How about we listen to some KIVA: Cycle Of The Seasons..

Here's another dream symbol to interpret. There are two in this week’s dream symbol. They are music and tattoo. Hearing harmonious and mellow music in your dreams typically foresees wealth and happiness. If you hear out-of-tune music in your dreams, this implies sadness, discord, and relationship issues. To hear a genre of music that you like in your dreams is giving you some sort of advice. Hearing music you hate indicates that you are ignoring or avoiding some guidance. Tattoos in dreams typically represent your feelings of originality and a desire to stand out in a crowd. If you received a tattoo in your dream, it means that a situation or choice you made in the real world is having a much more lasting impact than you had anticipated. If your partner has a tattoo in your dreams but not in reality, it may be a sign that they are attempting to express themselves through the relationship. If you had a dream that you were a tattoo artist, it implies that your unique experiences and unconventional tastes would put people off. However, if you actually work as a tattoo artist, your dream is only an extension of who you are. Having a tattoo of a dragon in your dream suggests that you are trying to attract attention. And if you had a dream of getting an ace of diamonds tattoo, it signifies that you’re proud of your achievements and want to show them off to others. If you want a dream symbol to interpret and maybe have a dream symbol featured, I will mention the contact information at the end of this show. So keep dreaming.
