What it's All About:
Sabbats are the cornerstone to everything Pagan/Wiccan. The Wheel of the Year is based on the all eight of them, which have varying degrees and meanings in different traditions. These days, many of us Pagans celebrate them as a time for family gatherings and community events or festivals that include music, dancing, feasting and other celebrations.

Welcome to another episode of the Music From the Goddess’ Vault. I am your host, Midnight Starr. You just heard Damh the Bard with Sabbat. Today’s show is all about the Sabbats. But first, if you haven’t done so already, you can check out the blog goddess vault one dot Wixsite dot com forward slash home. Also, please spread the word of this podcast through the blog, the Music From the Goddess’ Vault Facebook page, and on Instagram and Twitter at goddess vault. I am now on TikTok Midnight Starr 2. That is Midnight Starr (with two r’s) and the number two. Now for the main topic: Sabbats. This will be fun to learn. I do have fun every time I go to one. Do you have the same experience? This is what the wheel of the year is based from. But why do we celebrate it? How does it relate to us in the modern world. I will explain this, plus the history of it. First, I’m going to have you listen to some Leslie Hudson. This tune is called Songs of the Wheel.

The word, Sabbat, came from a number of different languages. The first one comes from Greek as Sabbaton. Sabbat, spelled S-A-B-A-T, came from Old English and Anglo-French. And from Hebrew as sabbath. All of them means rest or "the day." It is unclear when the term was used in its current meaning, but it has been around since at least 500 BC, where it meant “a holy time for worship” with religious significance to Judaism and Christianity alike. The Sabbats that we celebrate as pagans were inspired by the Anglo-Saxons and Celts. The Celts celebrated the divisions of seasons with their fire festivals. While the Anglo-Saxons celebrated both the equinoxes and solstices. Of course, we call it The Wheel of the Year.
I will be talking more about the Sabbat later. Here’s Hagalaz’ Runedance with Solstice Past.

It’s time for another spirit guide of the week. I haven’t been back to the animal kingdom in a while. Today’s spirit guide is the moose. If moose is your totem animal, you are a very independent and self-confident person. You would do anything to protect any of your family from anything since you have strong bond with them. If the moose is your power animal, you have a great intuition. You instinctively know when something doesn’t seem right. If the moose is your spirit animal, you are a leader who others will look up to for support, respect, and guidance. You’re best at teaching your children how to be independent and not dependent on you. Not only that, but you’re even willing to give some wisdom to pass down to future generations. However, you need to call on totem animal moose if you are putting yourself down a lot. You need to stand up and take care of yourself. You can even call on it when you need the courage to face the turmoil that is happening in your life. And, you might want to call on power animal moose if you want to see things from a different point of view. That is it for now. Stay tuned for another spirit guide of the week.

That was Children’s Totem Chant by Spiral Rhythm. There was a show that I watched on the Celts on Amazon Prime. They were showing many ancient artifacts. One of them that I immediately noticed was I guess a scroll or papyrus that had one of the names of Mid Sam. That meant Samhain, and it was an ancient Celtic calendar. I wouldn’t say that it was the wheel of the year, though. Nonetheless, back before the clock was invented, ancient people relied on not only astrology, but also the changing of the seasons to mark the passage of time. The wheel of the year is more Wiccan than Celtic. I am not going to mention any of the Sabbats because we all know them. If you are a non-Pagan listening to this show, you can always do this research online. But you know that the Wheel of the Year is all about the changing of the seasons. And part of the changing of the seasons is having the light half of the year from Beltaine to Samhain and the dark half from Samhain to Beltaine. The Sabbats, to me, represent the magic of the changing of the seasons. Change is constant, and It's something that some of us have a problem to adjusting. It is magic because how would the trees and plants know when to blossom again after a deep freeze of snow, and when the leaves should change color and drop to the ground to say to us that winter is coming. Here’s Libana with In May, That Lusty Season.

Here's another dream symbol to interpret. There are three in this week’s dream symbol. They are kidnap, packing, and painting. To be kidnapped in your dreams means that you are feeling that you are being tapped in real life. To see someone being kidnapped in your dreams, indicates that you are suppressing qualities and characteristics of that person. If you are the kidnapper in your dream, its telling you that you are pushing your views and opinions on other people. Packing in dreams represents changes that are going on. If you see yourself packing more and more stuff in your dreams, it indicates that there are countless expectations in your life that are holding you down. To pack and unpack and repeat in your dreams signifies that there are lots of chaos going on right now, and you feel out of control. If you see yourself painting a house in your dreams means great success in something new that you are doing. To dream that you see someone else painting your house, denotes that someone is not telling you the truth. If you see a painting, that means that you need to find a creative way to express yourself. To paint a picture in your dreams means that you need to show more of your creative side. And if you had a dream that paint is on your clothes, indicates that you shouldn’t let any form of criticism get to you. If you want a dream symbol to interpret and maybe have a dream symbol featured; the contact information will be mentioned at the end of this show. So keep dreaming.
