What it's All About:

Pagan ethics isn’t about dogma. It’s about personal responsibility and living in harmony with the web of life. This episode examines how Pagans across different traditions navigate the complex choices of modern life. I look at the foundational principles that challenge us to take responsibility for our choices in our interconnected world.

Now for the topic: Pagan Perspectives on Ethics and Morality. This is a complex subject because the Pagan world holds many different paths. I know that each path has its own way of looking at what is right and wrong.

I'm going to do my best to address this subject after you hear a track from Cernunnos Rising. Get ready for The Witches' Tree.

(08:42)

I want to tackle the biggest difference between our path and other systems: the lack of dogma.

If you were raised with a tradition that gave you a set of commandments, Paganism can be a little jarring. We don't have a holy book full of rigid rules, or a deity that hands down universal judgments. Instead, our ethics come from within. The biggest shift is the realization that we are our own primary moral guides. The ultimate authority on our actions is our own conscience.

This doesn't mean we just do whatever we want. It means we live with the full weight of our choices. There’s no easy button or forgiveness clause in this path. Every action creates a consequence that affects the connected web of life. When we move away from a top-down moral code, we are immediately forced to analyze the impact of every decision we make.

This leads us to the real goal pf Living with Integrity. The ultimate ethical standard in many Pagan traditions is not about avoiding sin, but about building a strong, honorable character. Our ethics are about aligning our outer behavior with our personal, deepest values. When we live with integrity, we are constantly checking our choices against the person we genuinely want to be.

So, morality isn't a list to check off; it's a dynamic, constant practice of self-responsibility. Which is a powerful thing. When I come back, I’ll talk about the second major pillar of Pagan ethics: why the health of the planet is a spiritual mandate.

For now, let's listen to some more music. Here is The Secret Path by Moon and the Nightspirit.

Time for another Spirit Guide of the Week.

We're going back to ancient Greece to talk about the Goddess Themis.

She is the embodiment of Justice, Righteousness, and Sacred Knowledge. Her name translates directly to "steadfast".

Themis is sometimes described as the very spirit of Earth’s Wisdom and even "Gaia’s soul.”

She is a daughter of Gaia and Uranus, making her one of the earliest divine forces. She is also the mother of the Horae, or the Seasons. This link emphasizes that her divine law governs not only human society but also the predictable, perfect cycles of the natural world.

More than just a goddess of courts, Themis is the spirit of order and social instinct. She's what enables people to form communities. Think of her as the cosmic blueprint for how things should be.

Themis was also known as the presiding secretary of the Olympian Pantheon, and she oversaw the feasts and social gatherings.

Ultimately, Themis is that unmoving, fundamental moral principle that we are responsible for upholding, both as individuals and as a community. She is the foundation of integrity.

That is it for now. Stay tuned for another spirit guide of the week.

(21:19)

That was Kellianna with Gaia’s Love.

Last time, I talked about self-responsibility and how Pagan ethics comes from within. Now, I want to talk about the second major pillar: why the health of the planet is a spiritual mandate.

The Sacred Earth This idea starts with a fundamental belief: The Divine is immanent in nature. In many Pagan traditions, the Divine isn't some distant entity outside the world. If the world is sacred, then morality isn't just about how we treat each other. It's about how we treat this living, breathing spiritual presence all around us.

This leads to the concept of Interconnectedness. When we look at the world, we see ourselves as completely inseparable from the larger ecosystem. We are all part of the same connected web of life. There is no separation between the spiritual and the physical; if we harm the web, we ultimately harm ourselves. This perspective forces us to see our actions as having an impact far beyond the human realm.

Because of this Interconnectedness, our ethics become a mandate for Spiritual Stewardship. Our morality requires us to protect and care for the environment out of reverence, not out of obligation. This isn't just an ecological concern for us; it is a profound spiritual responsibility. Our job is to be the respectful, humble caretakers of the sacred spaces we inhabit.

So, the result is a Holistic Morality. Our ethics have a dual requirement: our internal conscience, which we discussed earlier, and this outward ecological reverence for the sacred Earth. These two forces work together, demanding integrity both within ourselves and in our relationship with the world.

I’m going to take another break so that you can listen to Child Divine by Ginger Ackley.

(26:01)

Here's another dream symbol to interpret.

These are the three: Wax, Wedding Dress, and Werewolf.

Let’s start with Wax.

Dreaming of wax often points to having too much going on in your waking life.

If you see wax dripping, this represents deeply passionate, hidden emotions and suggests it’s time for some spiritual cleansing.

If you dream that you are waxing something, that suggests you are ready to forge ahead with a specific project or major goal.

Next up, the Wedding Dress.

To dream that you are searching for a wedding dress on the day of your wedding, it means you're struggling to define your role in a current situation.

If you are wearing a dress in your dreams, you are currently examining or judging your personal relationships.

Seeing someone wear a wedding dress in a strange setting means you may be experiencing feelings of being Inadequate or undeserving.

Finally, Werewolf.

Seeing a werewolf indicates that a situation in your waking life is not what it appears to be.

Dreaming that you are a werewolf suggests your personality has become destructive to your well-being.

And finally, dreaming of a sexual encounter with a werewolf indicates a need to release your inhibitions and embrace your natural, animalistic desires.

If you want a dream symbol to interpret and maybe have a dream symbol featured, I will mention the contact information at the end of this show. So keep dreaming.
