What it's All About:
This show is for all the Novice Pagans out there. Notice that I did not say the other catchphrase when it comes to new pagans. Why? Because I don't want to dumb anyone down. It's a beginner's guide to something you can continue learning about your entire life, so it covers the basics of what rituals entail. For those of you who have been on this path for a while, this might be a refresher show for you.

Welcome another episode of the Music From the Goddess’ Vault Podcast. I am your host, Midnight. The first song you heard was Ritual by Jana Runnalls. The topic of today’s show is how to create your own ritual. If you haven't already, please visit the blog goddess vault one dot Wix site dot com forward slash home. I encourage you to spread the word of this podcast through the blog, the Music From the Goddess’ Vault Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter at goddess vault, and TikTok at Midnight Starr 2. That's Midnight Starr (with two r's) and two. Now for the topic: How to create your own ritual. This show is for all the novice Pagans out there. Notice that I did not say the other catchphrase when it comes to new pagans. Why? To avoid making, adults look silly. It's a beginners guide to something you can continue learning about your entire life, but with an emphasis on quality over quantity to help people who are just starting out and have no idea what they're doing! You can still listen to this if you have been working at this for years and maybe learn something you haven't done before. I am going to start off the show with a song from Hexperos, Ritual.

Rituals have been an important part of humanity since we began as a species. It serves to define human beings. They are a way of communicating with the divine, which is an integral part of religiously oriented people's lives. The ritualistic nature of our society has been documented throughout history, from ancient civilizations such as Egypt or Greece all the way until our modern-day world. Rituals in a way are repeated social, political, or religious acts that have symbolic meaning for the individuals involved. Reaffirming ties with past generations and commemorating significant events can be achieved through it. These rites can vary from day-to-day activities like morning wake up routines to annual events such as Thanksgiving celebrations to once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like marriage ceremonies. Nonetheless, that is the significance of a ritual. Now let me play for you some Elvenking with The Druid Ritual of Oak.

It’s time for another spirit guide of the week. I am going back to Asia to discuss the Buddhist, Taoist, and Shinto goddess Kwan Yin. She is the spirit of compassion and the goddess of mercy. The most beloved Asian goddess, Kwan Yin transcends all religious boundaries. In Buddhism, she is considered a Bodhisattva. Kwan Yin is a protector of women, children, and animals. She brings fertility and good health to all. Travelers can rely on her for guidance and protection. Kwan Yin breaks the cycle of reincarnation, punishment, and retaliation. She first appeared in China between the seventh and ninth centuries C.E. Kwan Yin is portrayed as a lovely and caring woman in every myth. She is depicted dressed in a white flowing robe. Not only that, but she is always shown standing alone or on top of a dragon, surrounded by two birds. There are also some depictions of Kwan Yin having one thousand eyes and arms. What you can offer Kwan Yin on your altar are the following: Oranges, pomegranates, Species, Oolong Tea and incense. That is it for now. Stay tuned for another spirit guide of the week.

That was Lisa Thiel with Kwan Yin. So, you are a newcomer to the craft, and you have done your three levels or whatever you call it. Now one of your assignments is to create your very first ritual. So, what is the first thing that you should do? There are two ways to go about it. You can buy books or do your research online and social media to find rituals that have already been written by someone. Or you can create one of your own. I do remember my very first public ritual that I had to create. I had this idea of using the shamanic animals in the ritual. Part of it was different animal species as the quarters, for example, water representing all the fish in the sea, and air all the birds. When I did mention this to my coven, I did get some help from those who have done rituals before in terms of other things to think about. You do have to think about what incense to use, and other things. If you are planing to create one, the first thing that you should do is to ask yourself, why are you having this ritual? Is there something that you are honoring? Are you celebrating a Sabbat? What is your purpose? How many people do you want to involve in this ritual? What are their roles? I am assuming you belong to a coven. If you are a solitaire, it is yourself. You might have to consider what tradition your coven is. It may be necessary to incorporate some elements of that tradition into your ritual. In addition, you will also need to consider how you will cast the circle. After you have written the script, you will need to assign quarters to your coven members. What kind of meditation do you want to include. There is no doubt that grounding will be a part of it. If you wish, you can also include a dance in the ritual. I wanted my coven member to dance their animal; However, they didn’t, but they did dance. What offerings will you include in your ritual? How are you going to close the circle? And who will be the kitchen witch to serve the cake and ale at the end of it. I know that this is overwhelming if you are creating a ritual for the first time. But don’t worry, your coven members will help you out. Here’s David Wood with The Great Rite in Motion.

Here's another dream symbol to interpret. There is only one in this week’s dream symbol and that is fish. When you dream that you see a fish swimming, you are receiving insights from your subconscious. If you had a dream about a small fish attacking a giant fish, this is a warning not to dismiss someone because of their size. If you have a dream about being attacked by an abnormally enormous fish, it means you are avoiding a looming emotional issue that could turn into a crisis. Dreaming of a large fish trying to eat you signifies prominent figures in your life, who are trying to destroy your talents. Dreaming of a fish with legs indicates that you should expand your awareness and understanding beyond your current level of comfort. The dream of catching a fish indicates new information coming your way. Dreaming that you caught a white fish could be a sign that you are questioning your religious views. Having a dream that you are washing a fish may indicate that you are adjusting your emotions in a way that will be appropriate for others to see. When you see fish bones in a dream, this corresponds to old thoughts, ideas, or viewpoints that have already been revealed. If you dreamed that you were cooking fish, that means that you are integrating your new spiritual knowledge and feelings with your new reality. And if you dreamed that you were eating fish, it represents your faith, success, vitality, and sustenance. If you want a dream symbol to interpret and maybe have a dream symbol featured, the contact information will be mentioned at the end of this show. So keep dreaming.

It's time for a nice deep and relaxing meditation. You know that you can't drive and meditate at the same time. If you are in your car, you can skip ahead. Next up, a meditation from Tricia Stewar Shui's album The Gatekeeper's Guide: To Ancient Essential Oils and Rituals. This track is called Self-Trust. Before I begin, you can choose to pause the meditation and grab some base grape seed, nutmeg, margulum, and cypress essential oils. As well as some sweetgrass incense. Even if you don't have all of them, it's okay. Here’s the track.
