Welcome to another episode of the Music from the Goddess’ Vault Podcast. I am your host, Midnight. You just heard Cycle of the Season by KIVA. The topic of today’s show is all about Cycladic Paganism. However, before we continue, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on which classic Yule episode to revisit this December (it’s that time of year again!). You can easily cast your vote in the “Choose an Old Yule Episode” poll: located in the show notes. I’m curious to see what you all choose. Following that, I would like it if you could spare a moment to complete two questionnaires. The first one centers on the exciting perks offered to my Patreon supporters (your thoughts regarding possible rewards!). To join in on the action, simply click on the Patreon Perks link which is included in the show notes. However, this is important, because it helps me improve this podcast. Although it may seem like a small task, your feedback is help in shaping the future of this podcast. The second questionnaire offers a chance for you to shape the course of this podcast. I would like your thoughts about the main topics for this show; also, suggestions related to Spirit Guides or dream symbols would be helpful. To share your ideas, simply click the link provided in the show notes. You can also connect with me via social media—Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Blue Sky and Mastodon. However, if you prefer, you can visit my blog at goddessvault1.wixsite.com. To stayed updated about the latest episodes, you can subscribe for FREE at musicgoddessvault.substack.com. However, if you wish to further support the show (which is always helpful), consider choosing a paid subscription—just $7 a month or $70 annually. Although this may seem like a small investment, it significantly adds to the show's success. Because of your support, I can continue to bring you good quality content!
Now for the topic: Cycladic Paganism. This is another one from ancient Greece. I am going to talk about them and how they influence modern paganism. But first, let’s enjoy some music: here’s Cycles of the Moon by Reclaiming.

The Cycladic Islands, a group of islands located between Greece and Turkey, were home to a vibrant culture that lasted from around 3100 to 1000 BCE. Known for their unique artistry, the Cyclades are especially recognized for their stunning female figurines, crafted from marble. These figures have intrigued scholars for years, sparking debates about their meanings and significance. While the most famous among them is often the Venus of Willendorf, it’s important to note that Cycladic art also includes male and intersex figurines, showcasing the diversity of their society. Obsidian, a volcanic glass, was one of the key raw materials used by the Cycladic people. Initially, they were primarily fishing and rural communities, cultivating crops like barley, wheat, and olives, and raising livestock. This agricultural foundation allowed for population growth, particularly during the Middle Bronze Age when their communities began to flourish. As their society evolved, the Cyclades became a significant trading hub, particularly with the Minoans on the island of Crete. Evidence of this trade is found in the form of Linear A tablets discovered on Keros, one of the Cycladic islands. This interaction with Crete and later with the mainland Mycenaean culture led to a notable increase in the sophistication of their pottery and artistic expression.
The Cycladic Islands also have a rich spiritual heritage. By the Late Bronze Age, deities such as Apollo, Artemis, Demeter, and Dionysus began to emerge from this region, signaling the cultural exchange and religious developments that characterized the time. In the next segment, I'll be discussing how ancient Cycladic culture has influenced modern Paganism. But first, let’s enjoy another song: Artemis by Wendy Rule.

That was Winged Bull by Magicfolk. So, how does Cycladic Paganism influence us modern witches? I couldn’t find much information directly connecting Cycladic practices to modern spirituality. However, it’s clear that many ancient Pagan traditions, including those of the Cycladic people, had a strong respect for nature. Today, as life gets busier, many of us are trying to reconnect with the natural world around us. Like other ancient cultures, the Cycladic pantheon was diverse, featuring multiple deities. This is similar to the Minoans and Mycenaeans, whose gods eventually merged into the more widely known pantheon of ancient Greece on Mount Olympus. Rituals connected to the seasons also resonate with us today. While the Cycladic religion may not celebrate holidays like Mabon or Samhain, there was undoubtedly a profound respect for the cycles of change. This is especially relevant now, as we face the pressing issue of climate change and its impact on our planet. Community is another vital aspect of both ancient and modern Paganism. Just as ancient cultures fostered a sense of belonging, modern Paganism seeks to create inclusive spaces, even as we each walk our unique paths. So, how do you see ancient practices influencing your own spiritual journey? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Now, here’s The Earth is Our Mother by Libana.

Here's another dream symbol to interpret. Once again there are three. And they are Ink, Instructions, and Notes. Seeing ink in a dream symbolizes creativity. Dreaming of spilled ink signifies a flaw or a small issue. If you dream of seeing bottles of ink, it indicates that a resolution to your problem will soon be revealed. Dreaming of following or reading instructions implies that you are looking for guidance on your next steps. If you dream about reading instructions for assembling a table, it suggests that you are striving to be more social and approachable. Dreaming of reading instructions for using an electronic device suggests that you need to simplify your life. If you dream of reading or writing a note, it indicates that there is a significant message you need to communicate. Passing a note in your dream represents your quest for knowledge and information. And dreaming of seeing musical notes reflects harmony or discord in your life, depending on whether the notes are either sharp or flat. If you want a dream symbol to interpret and maybe have a dream symbol featured, I will mention the contact information at the end of this show. So keep dreaming.
