What it's All About:
Time to discuss another form of paganism, or rather Wicca: Alexandrian. This is for newcomers to this path who haven't yet decided what they wish to worship. In some ways, it is like Gardnarian Wicca, but in other ways it is different. Listen to the show to learn more.

Welcome to another episode of the Music From the Goddess’ Vault Podcast. I am your host, Midnight Starr. The tune you just heard was Alexian with The Wise Ones. Today's show is about the Alexandrian Tradition of Wicca. What I am going to say next is obvious. If you haven't already, please visit the blog goddess vault one dot Wix site dot com forward slash home. From there, you can listen to the podcast. I encourage you to spread the word of this podcast through the blog, the Music From the Goddess’ Vault Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter at Goddess vault, and TikTok at Midnight Starr two. That's Midnight Starr (with two r's) and two. Let's talk about the Alexandrian Tradition of Wicca. Newcomers are familiar with this tradition or are learning about it for the first time. I will elaborate more on the history of that and the differences and similarities with Gardnerian Wicca.
I'll start with an old classic - Fritz Jung's Color Me Pagan.

Alex and Maxine Sanders founded Alexandrian Wicca in the 1960s in the UK. It takes its name from the Library of Alexandria. If you're unfamiliar with this library. It is a trove of knowledge from all over the globe. From a young age, all things esoteric fascinated Alex Sanders. In the 1930s, he became a witch and joined his first coven, where he studied ceremonial magic. His second coven was Gardnerian. Eventually, he and his wife Maxine split off from that tradition to form what is now the Alexandrian Tradition of Wicca. Next, I will discuss the similarities and differences between Gardnerian and Alexandrian.
But first, a song by Harold Carter: Witchcraft Hustling.

It’s time for another spirit guide of the week. I'm going to Wales to discuss the Goddess Rhiannon. She is the goddess of wealth and power. She’s regarded as a sorceress who performs divinations. Rhiannon has an association with horses as well. Translated, her name means Great or Divine Queen. Her father may be Lord Arawn. The Welsh lord is her husband. I will not go into the story of how Rhiannon and her husband met. She had a son who disappeared days later. The servants caring for him didn't want to be blamed. As a result, they accused Rhiannon of eating her son. Her husband punished her for seven years. The same thing happened to Teyrnon's mare with her newborn foal. Nevertheless, He stayed up and killed a claw, then found a baby boy that he and his wife adopted. Teyrnon soon discovered that the boy was Pwyll's son. Rhiannon was then exonerated after the boy was returned to her. You can ask her to protect you from catastrophes and embarrassment by request. You can also call on Rhiannon for help with beauty, home bliss, and actual love. That is it for now. Stay tuned for another spirit guide of the week.

It was Louise Pilkington and Rhiannon. I am going to start with the similarities between Alexandrian and Gardnerian Wicca. There are a lot of similarities between the two. Each celebrates all sabbats. Both have priests and priestesses. Both offer all three degrees of initiation. Each uses ceremonial magic. Both place a great deal of importance on gender polarities. Each tradition emphasizes the interconnectedness of the gods and goddesses. I am sure there are many more similarities, but I don't have the time to mention them right now. What the differences are is that Alexandrian are somewhat more eclectic. There is a famous saying by Maxine Sanders that goes, “if it works, use it.” Otherwise, follow your own path. I might be wrong, but there is also a difference in the worship of deities. One example I read online is that of the Oak and Holly Kings, both of which are ancient archetypes. In terms of warmth and cold, as well as dark and light. Another difference is that instead of being skyclad, they wear ritual attire. Hermeticism and ceremonial magic are important in the Alexandrian tradition. They aren't nearly as dogmatic or secretive. In some Alexandrian covens, you must become a neophyte or dedicant before you can even begin your first degree. They devote equal time to both gods and goddesses. Anyone can access the divine, not just the priests or priestesses. I've got another song for you. This is Light Divine by Flora Wares.

Here's another dream symbol to interpret. In this week's dream symbol, there are three. Oil, operation, and orchestra are the three. When you see oil in your dreams, it symbolizes your wish for things to flow more efficiently. If you had crude oil in your dream, it meant prosperity and fortune. Alternatively, it may inform you of the importance of saving energy and being ecologically sensitive. If you have a dream about using baby oil, it signifies your need to comfort your inner child. You also need to be free once in a while. In dreams, message oil represents your seductive nature. If you dreamed of having an operation, it means you need to eliminate something from your life or out of your system. To operate on someone in your dreams, it's a sign that you're coping with some deep concerns or buried feelings. If you have a dream about a military operation, it means you must address some challenges or circumstances with dedication, accuracy, and organization. Being in an orchestra in your dreams represents inner unity, completion, and balance. In your dreams, hearing orchestral music denotes your link to civilization. And dreaming of being the conductor of an orchestra denotes power, authority, or influence. If you want a dream symbol to interpret and maybe have a dream symbol featured, I will mention the contact information at the end of this show. So keep dreaming.

Listening to this while driving is not recommended. Just skip ahead to the end. The next meditation is from Unlock Your Life's album Meditations for Multitaskers. The track is called 9 Minute Meditation Break for Overly Responsible People.
